There is a wikipedia page about the DK 3 game here I'm not 100% sure of the dates, but I think this was around the same time the supposed DK 3 was announced and then cancelled - it was certainly the same year (2000).

I was at the DK launch party which was an awesome, medieval affair held in a big barn somewhere in the middle of nowhere, however this was also the (un?)official launch of Lionhead Studios - evidenced by a giant, lit up hot-air balloon floating over a lake at that party, with the logo on it.įor those unfamiliar with it, Bullfrog (creators of DK and DK2) got quite fragmented when Peter Molyneux (founder of Bullfrog and designer of all their big early games) founded Lionhead and took a lot of the good people from Bullfrog with him. I knew one of the developers on the original DK game (and I believe he worked on DK2 as well) - indirectly I was responsible for introducing the musician to darkambient music, which then influenced the style of music in the game - so I'm told anyway! That's all rather a lot more insane than deciding creatures should dance at some point, and picking a different dance for each type of creature. If the dwarf was well liked or had family, this could have nasty implications.

If a dwarf is dripping blood, and you don't have any dwarves who know how to dress and suture a wound, or if you don't have any cloth or thread for them to do that, the dwarf might bleed to death or die of infection. The type of injury not only effects the dwarf, but also changes what skills and materials are required to care for the dwarf. Probably, yes coated implies it's been splattered with blood, or that previous blood flow has stopped through clotting (or perhaps suitable healthcare but without anything to clean the wound, which would increase the chance of infection), dripping implies actual blood loss and perhaps damage to part of the hand, which would reduce its effectiveness, potentially to the point of crippling the dwarf and causing it to drop whatever it was carrying in it (e.g. Well, perhaps in Dwarf Fortress it actually matters if it is your left hand rather than your right hand that is dripping, rather than coated in, blood Click here for a list of other gaming subreddits.
